11-Campaign for Innocent Victims In Conflict

Salaamun 'alaykum,
  Peace               upon you

S
ome people ask "Why does God allow War to happen?", God allows Satan to scheme and implement his schemes within limits, God leads Satan on, in order to incur his just requital along with all those who followed him. But Satan schemes and God also schemes, God is the Best Schemer.

As i said before, there are two parallel kingdoms on earth today, Satan's kingdom which encompasses all those who allow their Jinn companions to control them (through obsessions, addiction, and unjustified fears and hates), those who follow their sinful lusts and desires instead of the absolute values.

On the other hand there is God's kingdom, and it includes all the sincere around the world who value each moment of their lives, who know that they are on a mission to redeem themselves, hence there is no time to waste. War is allowed also for the sincere to redeem themselves through helping the innocent victims. Through these real people God sends His mercy to those who deserve it.

Among the real people is one brave young woman through whom God gave us a great example, a great reminder for those who are wasting their lives in pursuing their desires and lusts, totally oblivious of a heavy day ahead, when everybody will be asked what has he prepared to redeem himself ? Marla Ruzicka, the 28 year old activist who was killed by a car bomb in Iraq last Saturday will have enough to redeem herself on that day.

Why did God allow them to kill her? in our limited perception we cannot see God's wisdom immediately, however since God states in Quran that all those who die before 40 years of age go directly to Heaven (check appendix 32 of the authorized english translation of Quran by Rashad Khlaifa, you can find it online), rest assured that Marla on April the 16th had had gathered enough credits to earn her a ticket back to Heaven and that she is now in the best place she could have ever dreamt of.

[2:154] Do not say of those who are killed in the cause of GOD, "They are dead."
They are alive at their Lord, but you do not perceive.

Champion of the innocent becomes another victim

April 19, 2005

On Saturday Ms Ruzicka became a casualty herself. A suicide bomber attacked a convoy of security contractors near her car on the airport road in Baghdad, killing her, her Iraqi driver and one other person, US embassy officials in Baghdad said.

Ms Ruzicka had worked in Afghanistan as well as Iraq. She took great risks, often travelling without guards and armoured cars. She also had a gift for promoting her cause.

She worked with Senator Patrick Leahy to get $US2.5 million ($3.2 million) for civilian victims in Afghanistan, and later $US10 million for victims in Iraq. Last week another $US10 million was authorised for the Iraq program.

Her father, Clifford, a civil engineer, "She had some rebel in her," he said. "She didn't like the status quo and wanted to change injustices where she found them.

From an early age, Ruzicka showed signs of an adventurous, and at times, defiant, spirit. One night, when she was 9 years old, she walked away from her family at a local restaurant and sat down next to an old man, her mother said. "He looked lonesome," the girl told her relatives.

Ruzicka was elected student body president in middle school, where she led a walkout to protest the first Gulf War.

"It didn't surprise me that she was the ringleader," said Ruzicka's eighth-grade history teacher, David Laven. "She couldn't understand there was so much poverty in the world, with so much wealth here. Most kids in eighth grade have no consciousness of social issues."

Steve Gentry, principal of Clear Lake High School, recalled how Ruzicka started the school's environmental club, coached younger kids to play basketball, goaded the school into doing more to help abused children, and successfully lobbied for a girls soccer team.

As a teenager, Ruzicka aligned herself with San Francisco activist group Global Exchange. When the Iraq war started, she formed the Campaign for Innocent Victims of Conflict, or CIVIC, deciding that she could accomplish more through less-partisan efforts. She started spending weeks at a time trying to track down the stories of Iraqis killed and wounded in the conflict.

Overseas, CIVIC was essentially a two-person operation, run by Ruzicka and Faiz Ali Salim, an Iraqi citizen. April Pedersen, who coordinated work in Washington, D.C., for CIVIC, said the pair found needy victims through Salim's contacts and through Ruzicka's hospital-by-hospital tallyings.

Ruzicka's parents are collecting donations for CIVIC in her memory. Checks may be sent to CIVIC, P.O. Box 1189, Lakeport, CA 95453.

When Marla Ruzicka saw children selling gum to tourists in Tijuana in order to feed their families, she emptied her pockets to buy up their supply.

She was just 9 years old, her mother, Nancy, recalled yesterday in a telephone interview.

At 15, Ruzicka brought the same concern for others to her high school in California, collecting human rights literature from a San Francisco nonprofit called Global Exchange and inviting a board member to address her class.

And during her four years at Long Island University's Southampton campus, from 1995 to 1999, Ruzicka participated in the Friends World program, which encourages students to get first-hand experience of the world's problems, and traveled to Costa Rica and Cuba, Kenya and Israel.

the prophets, the saints, the martyrs, and the righteous.
These are the best company.
